One of our first platform projects was designing a website for a group of businesses in downtown Birmingham called the Five Points Merchants Association. Five Points is a very historic part of Birmingham, and bringing their community together is something that the city is very interested in. We let the city know what we had created online for their group, and they invited us to make a presentation in front of the city council. Here is the YouTube of the presentation. The guy standing up against in the wall, on the right directly below the exit sign. That’s me. And you probably can’t notice, but that place was totally packed - both inside and outside in the lobby. Mayor Larry Lankford spent the whole first half of the meeting defending his idea to enter Birmingham in the running for the 2020 Olympics. It was actually pretty exciting.
